The Centre's main aim is to help raise the
public's awareness of highland forests, a major part of Malaysia's rich
natural heritage.
Location
Located 1,300 metres above sea level amidst
the rich and relatively unspoilt highland forests of Fraser's Hill, the
Centre is well-placed to provide visitors with first hand opportunities
to experience and learn more about this unique natural ecosysem. Through
its education programmes, the Centre hopes visitors will gain a better
understanding of the importance of highland forests and appreciate the
need to conserve them, for the well being and benefit of present
and future generations.
Visitors
All are welcome; the local community, school
children and teachers, tourists, the general public, government and non-government
insitutions and private corporations.
Visitors can come for the day or stay overnight
to take part in its programmes and activities. Casual walk-in visitors
are also welcome.
Programmes and Activities
A variety of formal and non-formal approaches
are employed to make the Centre's education programmes interesting, meaningful
and fun. These include fieldwork, sensory awareness activities, simulations,
games, talks, discussions and audio-visual presentations.

Teacher-training Courses
The Centre can organise in-service and pre-service
teacher-training workshops/courses to help enhance their environmental
education knowledge and skills of teaching.
Information and Resource Centre
The Centre will also strive to establish itself
as an information and resource centre for highland forests in the country,
particularly those of Fraser's Hill.
Fees
Visitors taking part in the Centre's format
activities will be charged a nominal fee. All funds or donations collected
by the Centre will be used to cover its operational and maintenance costs.
There is no charge for casual walk-in visitors
who just want to take a look at the Centre and its exhibits.
Where to stay
Visitors can choose from a range of accommodation
facilities offered by the Fraser's Hill Development Corporation and other
operators. Package deals which include food and discounted rates for special
groups can be arranged through the Centre.

Insurance and Liability
Visitors taking part in the Centre's activities
must have insurance coverage. This will be arranged by the Centre. The
Centre is not liable for any injury or death to visitors or any damage
to or loss of property.
